reflections of 1st semester
Henri Cartier Bresson is an all time favorite photographer. His photographs transport me back to where he took the photo. The iconic one of the kids on the spiraling staircase is amazing. I can just imagine the sound of laughter and the echoes that go throughout the entire building. I may love Bresson, but during the emulation project I discovered Nadine Boughton. She is a collage artist who tackles gender polarities. She uses photographs and illustrations from magazines from the 50s and 60s. I really liked the overall look of her collages and the meaning behind it all. From the composition unit I have become much more aware about the angle or "type" of photo i am taking. I really appreciate how that project opened me up to endless possibilities. My favorite project was the Emulation project.
